Jennifer Contini Enderby

Truth: I have been living in Brooklyn, NY for only two months--
and I am lovin' the warmth of the people and the cool vibe on this Island. I wonder why it took me so long to move my studio space and home to this wonderful Borough??!! Excited to see how my work evolves once I am completely set up in my Red Hook studio.
My latest piece:
"Sorry For Interrupting You Love"
painted last month Sept. 2011 here in BKLYN came to me so quickly... took me 48 hrs to complete.
God is using my hands and heart to paint and create.
I am only His tool to spread His beauty.
and so- i paint
and i paint quickly
even on empty
it's God's way
He draws me closer
The Holy Spirit
holds me down
raises me up
and once again
the Lord surprises me with outcomes:
(This painting was selected for the SNBA 2011 in Paris at Carrousel du Louvre)
:-)
Stay tuned followers of my blog.........
"DoWnToWn GIRL" is seein' ORANGE!!!!

Jennifer Contini Enderby
SOLD

Basak Malone LLC is pleased to announce the up-coming group exhibition “Departure” opening on October 1st at 7:00 pm at Ward Nasse Gallery.

Curator Basak Malone’s project ‘Departure’ sets 10 artists into motion questioning how to let go. “Letting go” is what we are left to reconcile with and this is where we are asked to make a leap continuously and impromptu.

Departure artists: Jennifer Contini Enderby, Knut Peter Hoffmann, Eva Buchrainer, Martine Cyr, Maria Luisa Imperiali , Anna Kajsa Alaoui , Nino Korinteli, Marianne Liegl, Georgeta Stefanescu and Anna VanMatre will be on the view between October 1-30, 2011.

Address:178 Prince Street (Btw. Thompson and Sullivan)
http://basakmalone.com/

When Basak asked me to "let go" in my work,  I  needed to allow the paint to drip and dry and  place itself on my canvas.
Theme colors in this piece consisting of gold and blood red... dripped and blended into a pool at my feet reminding me of this :
"HE WHO IS GREEDY IS ALWAYS IN WANT"

Carmen Pousada Culture and Arte:
In this exhibition represents the works of 12 Brazilian artists, who in their paintings demonstrate the strength of unusual colors. Many use the synergy between the rhythm and movement in their work to depict the “dreams”
and concepts of modern life.
The concept of “contemporary” figures varies between the abstract figurative interpretations and each piece reflects the artist’s state of mind in a variety of themes and techniques.
This collection of works represents some of the best of what contemporary Brazilian art has to offer.

 a divine appointment...
DO YOU BELIEVE IN DIVINE APPOINTMENTS? I DO!
I met Leda Maria at Art Expo in NYC this year. Leda is an artist, Art Curator and Director of Ward Nasse Gallery in SoHo.
Our 'meeting’ which was totally inspired and God led proves to me that the possibilities of divine appointments are endless! I believe greater things are possible in our lives when being led by the Holy Spirit.
God will constantly lead us to cross another person’s path to lift us and help us-
BELIEVE ME, greater things do happen!
I am special guest of Leda Maria Do Prado's in the upcoming Brazilian Contemporary artshow!
The moment I met Leda, we immediately connected.
We are both in the business of ART, COLOR, LOVE, and SALES!
History of Ward-Nasse Gallery
The Ward-Nasse Gallery, founded by Harry Nasse, has been a respected landmark in SoHo, and a place of opportunity for artists for over 40 years. The gallery first opened in Boston during the early sixties. It subsequently moved to its present location in 1970, where it continues to be dedicated to all artists at various stages of their careers.
As an alternative space, attendance to the gallery's 2,000 ft. first-floor space has risen over the years to its current 15,000 visitors annually. All modes of contemporary art are exhibited, from traditionally executed works to more experimental art forms. Artists from across the country share walls with artists from Europe, Asia and South America.

Last night Leo and I walked about the streets of SoHo in the rain and quickly popped into POP INTERNATIONAL GALLERIES, Inc. on West Broadway.
The gallery lit up Leo's eyes with the playful works and vibrant colors!
The NYC gallerists, though busy with a buyer looking at high priced works, were kind and welcoming to us. One curator took the time to educate my son on Pop Artist Peter Mars. I am grateful to gallery owners/ art lovers/ art curators like these New Yorkers that that engage in the young. I believe it is through galleries like these,  the spirit of POP ART is kept ALIVE!!!!
The playfulness of Pop Art --- especially Romero Britto's work...is eye candy to collectors with millions and to children alike. Leo and I also walked by Britto's large-scale Apple sculpture at La Guardia Airport American Airlines terminal the other day- Immediately he connected with Pop International Galleries in SoHo.
......because of the inviting smiles, zesty colors, electrifying art and kindness that pulled us in from the rain, I promote and thank this gallery on my facebook and here on my blog this morning!
I am constantly movin' about this beautiful city of ours always finding
warm hearts through the arts wherever I go.

Leo wants me to add here that his favorite artist
(second to his mom) ;-)
is Peter Mars!

HAVE A GREAT DAY LOVES & GALLERY HOP IN THE RAIN!

(A psalm by David for the music leader.)
1-3I've already run for dear life straight to the arms of God
So why would I run away now
      when you say,
"Run to the mountains; the evil
bows are bent, the wicked arrows
Aimed to shoot under cover of darkness
at every heart open to God.
   The bottom's dropped out of the country;
good people don't have a chance"?

 4-6 But God hasn't moved to the mountains;
      his holy address hasn't changed.
He's in charge, as always, his eyes
      taking everything in, his eyelids
   Unblinking, examining Adam's unruly brood
inside and out, not missing a thing.
   He tests the good and the bad alike;
      if anyone cheats, God's outraged.
Fail the test and you're out,
out in a hail of firestones,
   Drinking from a canteen
      filled with hot desert wind.

 7 God's business is putting things right;
He loves getting the lines straight,
Setting us straight. Once we're standing tall,
we can look him straight in the eye.
Message:
Even in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles, including evil oppression and ill-advice, we need not flee to our earthly fortresses of safety. We can take refuge in the Lord to see that the righteous are upheld, and the wicked are punished for their evil, yet~

Forgiveness and LOVE can always be found!

"She Is- Silent Laughing"
(this always turns into a painting)

help me understand
my own art
my own thoughts
my own ideas
my own strengths
God knows
i am sweet
for every action
yes, the reaction
reacting
reacting
every love
NOT to hold you
back
NOT to hold you
back
help me understand
understanding
understanding
God knows
i am sweet
tomorrow
use me Loves
like laughing gas

laughing

laughing

not to hold you
not to hold me
back
back
back
 ideas continue
continuing
continuing
in praise of Jesus
her art
praising
praising
continue girl
tangled up in verbs
cutting up  t-shirts
cutting
cutting
scuplt a heart
let it last
ya know
lasting
lasting
most won't understand
your song
your poem
your art
your love
they won't
ya know-
i want to
tho
love
simple
love
understand
understanding
understanding
it's the quiet
my own silence
but don't ask
what that sounds like
because i am
silent laughing
silent laughing
silent laughing

my life is an expedition, spreading love...following rivers that run north.

365 days I LOVE NY
Day 4

"And I count myself more fortunate with each passing season to have recourse to these quiet, tree-strewn, untrimmed acres by the water. I would think it a sad commentary on the quality of American life if, with our pecuniary and natural abundance, we could not secure for our generation and those to come the existence of . . . a substantial remnant of a once great endowment of wild and scenic rivers"
— (William Anderson, Congressman from Tennessee, Arguing for passage of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act (1968))
Tonite I am officially all moved out of
New Paltz, NY.
Though I hear, HERE-
the "river runs north"
& if i throw this rock in my hand
 into this river
one day I will be back....
LOVES!

To have some parts flowing free again . . . with deer grazing on its banks . . . ducks and geese raising their young in the backwaters . . . eddies and twists and turns for canoeists . . . and fishing opportunities such as Lewis and Clark enjoyed . . . would be the finest possible tribute to the men of the Expedition, and a priceless gift for our children.
— (Stephen Ambrose, Undaunted Courage)
